I am in my apartment on Eridarius
when I hear the news –
war has broken out back home.
The updates coming through
are fitful and discouraging.
Nations are bombing each other
to distraction.
Finally, there’s a clarification.
It’s not my Earth
where the hostilities have broken out.
It’s Earth 5 in a whole other galaxy.
Earth is calm.
Earth is at peace.
It’s Earth 5 that’s like
the Earth I remember.
